PROMAC Rules app · Effective July 10, 2026

PROMAC Rules is a free app from the Professional Martial Arts Conference (PROMAC) that puts the PROMAC and NASKA sport-karate rulebooks in your pocket. This page explains — in plain words — what information the app collects, what we do with it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

When you sign up (once, ever, per device) we ask for:

  • Your name
  • Your email address — verified with a 6-digit code so we know it's real
  • Your cell number — optional, only if you choose to share it

As you use the app, we also keep your quiz scores, streaks, and the tournaments you mark as attended so leaderboards and streaks work.

We do not collect passwords (there are none), dates of birth, addresses, payment information, or location data.

Kids under 13

Athletes under 13 register through a parent or guardian, who signs up with their own name and email. We never knowingly collect contact information from a child under 13. If you believe a child registered directly with their own details, email us (below) and we'll delete the record.

How we use your information

  • To run the app — verification codes, quiz scoring, streaks, and leaderboards
  • To send you rules updates and PROMAC event news by email (you agreed to this at sign-up; every email includes a way to opt out)
  • That's it. We do not sell, rent, or share your information with anyone outside PROMAC, ever.

What's public and what isn't

Your email, phone number, and exact scores are never shown publicly. The only public surface in the app is the leaderboard, and it shows just your first name and last initial (for example, "Joey P.") — never your full name, email, or phone. You can hide yourself from the leaderboard anytime with one tap. Athletes under 13 appear only under their parent/guardian's registered name.

Privacy filtering happens on our servers — hidden players' information is never transmitted to anyone's device at all.

How your information is protected

  • Encrypted in transit (HTTPS everywhere) and encrypted at rest (AES-256)
  • Stored in a locked-down database that only our own server can read — the app in your browser holds no database credentials of any kind
  • Verification codes are never stored, and quiz answers are graded server-side so scores can't be faked

The AI features

The "What-If" engine and plain-word rule explanations use an AI service (Anthropic's Claude). Your typed scenario and the relevant rulebook text are sent to generate the answer — your name, email, and account details are never included in those requests.

Deleting your data

Email joey@promackarate.com from the address you registered with and we'll delete your registration — which automatically removes your quiz history, streaks, attendance marks, and leaderboard entries with it. There's also a "Remove my data" shortcut in the app's Settings.

Changes to this policy

If our practices change, this page changes with them and the effective date above is updated. Meaningful changes will be announced in the app.
